La musica rock (2 things)
Posted by Stella KevlarI received a gift of 5 free iTunes downloads from a friend/family member who bought tickets for himself, his wife, and his wife’s three sisters, writing, “And since the 4 sisters and I will be enjoying a concert, I figured that you should get some music out of the deal too, as the 5th.” (For those of you who don’t know, I am an honorary sister of perhaps the greatest family of sisters to ever exist, and I take this position very seriously; perhaps a little too seriously since I’m blogging about it now for strangers.)
So I have these 5 iTunes credits okay, so I actually used one already to download this song that was stuck in my head after I heard it on one of my sister’s mixes in her car. More on that in one second. So I have these 4 iTunes downloads! I need some suggestions. I’m gonna tell you right now that I haven’t bought an album in literally years and I get all of my musical illegally, so hate away, haters. I’ll be over here causing Tower Records to go out of business. So we’re talking anything that iTunes has here, people. I need suggestions! You’ve read my earlier post about what kind of music I like so use that as a guide, or not. These were free for me, so I’d even download something that you consider the worst song you’ve ever heard, but it better be pretty terrible in that case. And….go!
Okay, so that song I already downloaded was by this dude named Josh Kelley, who a quick Internet/MySpace search tells me is adored by 15 year olds and 40 year olds and no one in between. He also happens to be married to my best friend Katherine Heigl. This one song is called “Almost Honest” and I’m already tired of the song and can’t really stand any of his other songs either, but man oh man, that boy can sing, and I’m extraordinarily critical of singers, but DAMN, that shit is talented. Kudos, Katherine Heigl. I still hate your scrubs and your choices in general.

I was watching TV last night (Ludacrismas!!) during which I saw commercials for the Tim Burton “Sweeney Todd” movie and also that movie starring Katherine Heigl being a bitchy bridesmaid who never gets married who is obviously going to get married at the end of the movie. I started think

… seriously, that hobag keeps giving them to me, and it cracks me up, because most of the things I read about her (or things she says) make me actually like and/or respect her. But then she goes and stars in shitass movies, and starts her own line of hospital scrubs. Thanks, Kate, I definite

Went shopping with a male friend this weekend who had a gift certificate to the Lucky jeans store. Lucky jeans look GREAT on guys, especially guys with cute little flat butts like my friend. Not so on little plumpy here. I’ve always considered myself better than this, but I’m growing bac

I like to play ultimatum games with myself when I’m in the car. You know, games along the theme of “desert island” or “Would you rather?” or, in the case that has inspired this writing, “Favorite musical artist of all time.” I allow myself to indulge in this
